Merrick walked into the Starter Lab, the AC feeling cool on his skin. A large temperature difference between in here and the outside world.
Merrick hoped they weren't particular about clothing. He was dressed in simple clothing: a deep blue shirt and jeans. Was he meant to dress fancy...? He looked around for someone to assist him. He was going to adopt a Squirtle. It might of had something to do that blue was his favorite color... |

You don't see anyone around so you decide to explore deeper into the lab until eventually you get lost. You get tired and you don't want to shout for help, so you decide to rest on a conveniently placed lawn chair in the middle of the room.

Merrick, while catching his breath, is amazed this place is so big... and empty. Shouldn't there be somebody here to assist him?
Now that he thought about it, he'd always wondered if this place was paid for by the Government, was privately owned, or was on a volunteer system. Probably the first one. I mean, what person would give away Pokémon for FREE? |

He jumped out of the chair. "Its Merrick.. sir. And I'm, umm, here to get a Pokémon.... sir." He shifted nervously.

Bonsai was shuffling around throwing pokeballs around until he found Squirtle's. "Ah here we are, a brand new shiny pokeball with a Squirtle in it." He walks over to Merrick. "Take good care of it." He handed the pokeball in the hands of Merrick and placed the starter kit in the other.
